1. Who is responsible for your information
Forever Sourcing is a Cape Town, South Africa-based sourcing intermediary. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, contact our privacy contact at jonty@foreversourcing.co.za or +27 82 708 1893. Our business address for POPIA notices is 75 The Harri, Harrington Street, Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa.
2. What information we collect
When you enquire, we may collect your name, business name, business contact details, product and sourcing requirements, quantities, specifications, destination, shipping preferences and information in your message. We may also receive supplier documents, quotations, business correspondence and information from business contacts or publicly available business sources. Please do not send identity documents, payment-card details or sensitive personal information through the website form.
3. Why and on what basis we process information
We use personal information to respond to requests, evaluate potential sourcing matches, obtain quotations, coordinate discussions and logistics, keep relevant business records, prevent fraud and comply with applicable law. Depending on the circumstances, processing may be necessary to take steps requested before entering into a contract, perform a contract, comply with law, or pursue legitimate interests permitted by POPIA; where required, we will obtain consent. We do not treat submission of an enquiry as consent to unrelated marketing.
4. Required and optional information
Fields marked as required on the enquiry form are needed to assess and respond to your request. Providing other information is voluntary. Without sufficient contact and sourcing details, we may be unable to respond or obtain a meaningful quotation.
5. Who may receive information
We may share the minimum relevant details with potential buyers or suppliers, freight and logistics providers, inspection and testing providers, professional advisers, and technology providers where needed for your enquiry or a transaction. Our website uses Formspree to receive enquiry submissions. We do not sell contact lists. Before sharing commercially sensitive specifications or confidential information, please contact us to agree on appropriate safeguards.
6. International transfers of personal information
Because our work involves international buyers and suppliers, information relevant to an enquiry may be sent to recipients outside South Africa. Website form submissions may also be processed by service providers operating or storing information outside South Africa. We will make such transfers only where an applicable ground under section 72 of POPIA is met, such as adequate protection under applicable law or a binding agreement, informed consent, or a transfer necessary for a contract or pre-contractual steps requested by the person concerned. The countries and level of protection depend on the recipient and service provider involved; ask us for information about a particular proposed transfer before sending sensitive details. We will not assume that all overseas recipients offer protection equivalent to POPIA.
7. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant enquiry, ongoing business relationship, legitimate recordkeeping, dispute handling or legal obligations, and then delete, destroy or de-identify it where appropriate. Specific retention periods depend on the record type and applicable legal requirements. Our internal retention schedule should be confirmed before publication.
8. Security and service providers
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No internet service is completely secure. Where a service provider processes personal information on our behalf, we must put appropriate contractual security arrangements in place as required by POPIA. If a reportable security compromise occurs, we will take appropriate steps, including notifying the Information Regulator and affected people where required by law.
9. Your rights
Subject to POPIA and other applicable law, you may request access to personal information held about you, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion where permitted, or object to certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it, subject to lawful limitations. Send requests to jonty@foreversourcing.co.za; we may need to verify your identity before acting.
10. Complaints
You may contact us first with privacy concerns. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator via inforegulator.org.za or its complaints portal.
11. Cookies and external websites
This website may use essential technical functionality and links to third-party websites. We do not claim that analytics or advertising cookies are active unless they have been confirmed. If analytics, advertising pixels or additional tracking are introduced, this notice and any required consent controls must be updated.
12. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our services, technology and legal obligations change. The latest version will be available on this page.
